The small lower link end (also referred to as a small lower link slip end or weld‑on end) is an essential component in the 3‑point hitch / linkage system of Mahindra tractors, especially for lighter duty models or Category I (or small bore) linkage configurations.
Function & Role
-
It attaches to the lower lift arm (lower link) of the tractor and provides a pin hole mounting point for implements (like ploughs, harrows, seeders).
-
It transmits force, torque, and vertical loads from the implement through the link arm to the tractor hydraulic lift.
-
Because this is the small version, it is designed for lower load capacities and smaller pin diameters compared to heavy duty link ends.
Construction & Material
-
Usually made of mild steel or structural steel to balance strength and cost.
-
May be color‑coated or treated to resist rust and corrosion (e.g. black oxide or paint
-
Surface finish and dimensional tolerances are key to ensure a snug fit and minimize wear.
